The Marshall-Saline Development Corporation is partnering with Missouri Valley University to host a networking fair to open doors for students pursuing careers and degrees in agriculture.

Director Conner Swift made the announcement during a meeting with the MSDC Board of Directors Tuesday morning. He says the idea to host the fair came after meeting with University leadership.

Swift says he plans to meet with more area businesses and employers as part of MSDC’s Business Expansion and Retention (BRE) program.

In other news from Tuesday’s meeting, Swift announced the bid packet for stormwater work at the Bayer lot has been sent out to ten parties. The board is accepting bids to address drainage issues on a parking lot the corporation leases to Bayer in Marshall. The board also held its meeting in the newly opened Saline County Visitors Center, giving board members the opportunity to explore the new facility at the Marshall Junction.

The board’s next meeting will be held Tuesday, October 13.
