The SCCC FBLA Officer Team presented the Booster to Belts Program to students at Spainhower Primary School on Friday, October 2, 2026, during an all-school assembly.
The FBLA officer team consists of Jasmine Davis, Neidy Gonzalez, Chenuli Jayasundera, Christopher Sutter, and Krystin Tinoco. Through the Booster to Belts program, students at SCCC are helping teach K-2nd grade students at Spainhower Primary School about the importance of buckling up and using booster seats when appropriate. With the help of Booster Rooster, the program gets kids excited about seat-belt safety while teaching them why proper restraint use is important.
The program is made available through DCCCA and the Missouri Department of Transportation as part of an effort to increase seat-belt use among children in Missouri. Motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death among children and teens in the United States. Missouri law requires children to use a child safety seat or booster seat until they are 8 years old, weigh 80 pounds, or are 4 feet 9 inches tall. Safety experts recommend that children continue using a booster seat until a seat belt fits them properly without one.
