
Following nearly three decades serving in education, Superintendent Derek Lark reflected on his final year at Santa Fe before his retirement takes effect this summer.
Lark is retiring after a decade spent leading Santa Fe. He spoke to KMMO News about what this final year has meant to him personally and professionally.
Lark spent 19 years with Marshall Public Schools before spending ten years with Santa Fe. Current High School Principal Paula Brown will succeed Lark in 2026-2027.
Lark also spoke about Santa Fe’s graduation on May 8, highlighting the efforts of the Class of 2026.
Lark’s last day with the district will be June 30, 2026.
