A Sedalia man is facing a felony charge for an alleged incident of sexual harassment towards a juvenile recently in Pettis County.
A probable-cause statement says on February 21, a juvenile victim told authorities 38-year-old Thaddeus “TJ” Owings reportedly made unwanted sexual advances toward her the night before, which he allegedly touched the victim inappropriately while she was in bed. The victim also stated it was not the first incident, and Owings allegedly made her watch pornographic videos in the past.
During an interview, Owings reportedly did not deny the accusations and said it was a teaching experience for the victim to show her what he could do if he wanted.
Online court documents say Owings has been charged with a Class E Felony for First-Degree Harassment and a misdemeanor for fourth-degree assault. Bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety.
Owings’ initial hearing at Pettis County Circuit Court is pending.
