During its meeting on Monday, October 7, the Marshall City Council further discussed a possible ordinance to allow golf-cart type vehicles to be driven on certain city streets.
City Administrator David Haugland said they looked at several different area communities which do have such an ordinance and explained some of the parts of the possible ordinance.
Haugland said the proposed hours they could be operated on city streets would be between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m. at no faster than 20 miles per hour.
Haugland also said no person under the age of 18 would be able to operate the vehicle.
The first draft of the possible ordinance can be viewed on the city’s website, according to the council. It will be discussed again at a future council meeting, the next of which is Monday, October 21.
