With the impending retirement of current director Wicky Sleight on the immediate horizon, the Marshall Public Library Board of Trustees is hoping to interview possible candidates to replace her in the near future.
However, at the meeting of the Marshall Public Library Board of Trustees on Tuesday, February 13, Search Committee Chairperson Deb Hollrah said applicants have been scarce.

The board deferred any further discussion to closed session.
In a phone interview on Wednesday, February 14, board president Marsha Williams said the board plans on interviewing the one candidate it has right now. It also is going to circulate the advertisement to more agencies to try to attract more applicants. She said the deadline for any new applicants is early March, prior to the board’s next meeting on Tuesday, March 13.
Sleight’s last day as director is scheduled to be March 31.
