During the meeting of the Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen on Monday, May 14, aldermen were asked to approve the closure of part of a street for an event later this week.
City Clerk Michelle Fuehring explains First Baptist Church Pastor Kris Raven asked the board to approve a closure of a portion of Main Street on Friday, May 18.

Aldermen approved the request.
In other news, Fuehring said the board approved the request from Robert Ekstrand, of the Sweet Springs Revitalization Committee, to close Miller Street, from Main to Marshall Streets, on October 6 for Oktoberfest.
Fuehring said the board also approved a bid from Seth Eckhoff for a total of $800 to drag and mark the ball fields during the season that runs through the end of June.
