The Sweet Springs Police Department has received information in regard to persons impersonating law-enforcement officers.
According to a post on the department’s Facebook page, there have been multiple reports recently of unmarked vehicles attempting to stop cars on I-70.
A few days ago, a white Ford pickup truck with an unknown Kansas License plate reportedly attempted to stop a vehicle exiting the interstate to go into Sweet Springs.
There was another report of a black vehicle attempting to stop a vehicle near Emma, and that vehicle reportedly took off when someone else approached.
If you believe someone unaffiliated with law enforcement is attempting to stop you, the Sweet Springs Police Department is advising you to call 9-1-1 and drive to a well-lit area with other people nearby such as a gas station or store.
