Two area residents are each charged with felonies after the execution of a narcotics search at a residence in Lafayette County last month.
A probable-cause statement says during the search on December 28, Waverly Police officers, with assistance from Lafayette County Sheriff’s deputies, reportedly found a baggie with approximately two grams of methamphetamine and other drug-related paraphernalia at a residence in the 100 Block of East Cedar Street.
During the investigation, resident of the home, 23-year-old Austin Dankenbring, and 44-year-old Michael Nupp, of Concordia, each were arrested, and reportedly stated they had consumed some of the drug prior to the search.
Online court documents state Nupp and Dankenbring each has been charged with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoid and a drug-related misdemeanor. Bond for Dankenbring was set at $15,000, and Nupp’s bond set at $7,500 .
Online court documents also say each defendant appeared for arraignment hearings, where they entered pleas of not guilty on December 29. Nupp’s cause was continued for a case-hearing scheduled at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, where Dankenbring’s cause is scheduled to continue with case-hearing at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 10. Each proceeding is scheduled to be held at Lafayette County Circuit Court in Lexington.
