A Carrollton woman sustained moderate injuries in a traffic accident in Saline County on Wednesday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred as the driver of a northbound vehicle, 49-year-old Kathy Norris, reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, where the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a culvert. Norris reportedly was not wearing a seat belt.
Norris reportedly was transported by emergency responders to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence for treatment of injuries.
The accident happened just before 9:30 p.m. on U.S. 65 at Gilham Street in Grand Pass.
