A fugitive from Pettis County was taken into custody in Marshall on Wednesday, January 3.
According to a release from the Marshall Police Department, Sherry Liebig, of Sedalia, walked into the police department to seek help on another matter. Once it was learned that Liebig was wanted for failure to appear on a drug-related matter, she was arrested. She was booked and then released to the custody of Saline County Jail personnel.
Online court documents say a warrant was issued for the arrest of Liebig by Pettis County authorities on December 20 for failure to appear for an arraignment hearing on December 18. The original charge is a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana and a drug-related misdemeanor. The new bond has been set $15,000 surety only.
