A warrant has been issued and a Sedalia woman has been charged with a pair of felonies after a traffic stop on January 2.
A probable-cause statement says the Sedalia Police officer smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, the officer allegedly found marijuana on the passenger’s floorboard, and a baggie, which contained a white powdery residue and reportedly field-tested to have the presence of amphetamine. A child also reportedly was a passenger in the vehicle that was stopped.
Online court documents say 18-year-old Elizabeth Mae Jones has been charged with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoid; a Class D Felony for Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and a drug-related misdemeanor. Bond has been set at $15,000 cash or surety.
An initial hearing for Jones Pettis County Circuit Court in Sedalia is pending.
