A Kingsville man suffered moderate injuries in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Johnson County on Wednesday.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as a northbound vehicle, driven by 62-year-old Merna Scarborough, of Lexington, reportedly attempted to turn left and pulled into the path of a southbound vehicle, driven by 61-year-old Mary Cotter, of Kingsville. After impact, the Cotter vehicle reportedly continued off the west side of the roadway, struck a fence and came to rest in a field.
While the drivers reportedly did not sustain any injuries, a passenger in the Cotter vehicle– 74-year-old Gary Jewell– reportedly was transported to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence for treatment.
The crash happened at about 4 p.m. on Route AA at Northwest 370th Road.
