A Marshall man is facing several drug-related felonies after two separate incidents last year in Saline County.
According to a probable-cause statement, on July 10, 2017, Saline County deputies responded to a report of an alleged suspicious vehicle at a convenience store in the 24200 block of U.S. Highway 65. Upon arrival, deputies reportedly made contact with the driver of the suspicious vehicle, 29-year-old Cyrus Blackerby, who reportedly had a Saline County warrant for his arrest. Blackerby reportedly fled the area on foot, where law enforcement eventually lost sight of him. A search of Blackerby’s vehicle allegedly discovered a small case containing 9.3 grams of methamphetamine and various other drug paraphernalia.
According to another probable-cause statement, on August 18, 2017, Saline County Sheriff’s Department, with assistance from Lafayette County Drug Taskforce, executed a search warrant on a residence in the 12500 block of North 65 Highway. Blackerby reportedly was apprehended and allegedly was in possession of 2.2 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Online court documents say Blackerby has been charge with the following felonies in both cases: two counts of a Class E Felony for Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance; a Class D Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class E Felony for Resisting or Interfering with an Arrest for a Felony; and two drug-related misdemeanors. Cash-only bonds were set for each case at $10,000 and $15,000, respectively.
Blackerby’s initial hearing at Saline County Circuit Court in Marshall is pending.
