U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue recently announced appointments to the Farm Service Agency (FSA) State Committees, and a Saline County resident has been appointed to represent the state of Missouri this year.
According to a news release, Saline County resident Cindy Schroeder was appointed to serve Missouri’s FSA State Committee for a one year term. Each state committee has five appointees, and is comprised of one chairperson and four members.
Secretary Purdue said each state committee is responsible for carrying out FSA’S farm programs within delegated authorities, and will help ensure the USDA is providing farmers and agricultural producers with the best customer service possible. Purdue added the committees are made up mostly of active farmers, which serve as a liaison between their peers and the USDA.
Schroeder’s one year term began on January 1.
