Area authorities have identified the woman who reportedly was shot and killed in Pettis County on January 9.
According to a release from Pettis County Sheriff Kevin Bond, Pettis County Coroner Robert “Skip” Smith identified the shooting victim as 21-year-old Cassandra L. White. White lived at residence in the Western View Estates Trailer Park on Oak Grove Lane near Sedalia. Reportedly, White’s two children were in the residence when the shooting occurred. Reportedly, Neither of the children were injured in the incident.
Deputies were dispatched to the scene at 8:26 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, to a report of gunshots being heard but were unable to locate any suspicious activity. Nearly two hours later– at 10:18 p.m.– a call was received of a person with gunshot wounds at a residence in the trailer park.
An autopsy has been scheduled for January 11, and will be conducted by the Boone County Medical Examiners Office.
