Due to three calls coming in within 25 minutes on Wednesday, January 10, it was a busy time for the Lexington Fire Department.
According to fire chief Brad Weber, the first call came in at 7:19 p.m. for mutual-aid putting out a brush fire near Mayview at the intersection of Route O and Barkertown Road. The department aided the Mayview Fire Department.
Weber said while personnel were on the scene of that blaze, calls came in at 7:35 and 7:43 for medical emergencies. An ambulance was sent to the first call and emergency responders to the second.
As for the fire, he said fire fighters were on the scene about two hours, returning to quarters at about 9:30. He said only brush, trees and vegetation were burned.
Weber said there were no injuries and none of the department’s equipment was damaged.
