A Cooper County man suffered injuries in a traffic crash involving wildlife in Callaway County on Thursday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as 39-year-old Michael Baker, of Boonville, reportedly attempted to maneuver his vehicle to avoid a deer in the roadway. The vehicle reportedly traveled off the roadway, struck a ditch and came to rest on its side.
Baker, who reportedly was not wearing a seat belt, reportedly was transported by a private vehicle to Boone County Hospital in Columbia for treatment of minor injuries.
The crash happened just before 3 p.m. on County Road 349, one-tenth of a mile south of County Road 348.
