A Howard County resident has been charged with a felony for allegedly crashing her vehicle into and causing $1,000 worth of damage to a gas pump on December 28, 2017, in Cooper County.
According to a probable-cause statement, a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Heather Daniell Wright, of Fayette, is alleged to have hit a gas pump at Lucky’s gas station on East Morgan Street in Boonville. Wright’s truck allegedly hit and broke the handle of the pump, reportedly causing gas to spill out onto the ground. Wright reportedly was notified by the clerk at the store that her vehicle had damaged the pump, but Wright allegedly prepaid for her gas and left the scene without leaving any personal information.
Online court documents say Wright has been charged with a Class E Felony for Property Damage in the First Degree and a misdemeanor for knowingly not having insurance coverage on the vehicle.
A criminal summons has been issued and Wright’s arraignment hearing is scheduled to be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, February 6, at Cooper County Circuit Court in Boonville.
