A Lafayette County senior citizen who has been charged with multiple counts of sex-related felonies for allegedly having inappropriate sexual contact with two juvenile females has a court proceeding scheduled this week.
A probable-cause statement says Arthur Sanders, of Odessa, allegedly inappropriately touched the females in sensitive areas under their clothing, as well as had the girls perform sexual acts on him on multiple occasions. The incidents reportedly started occurring in November 2012.
Online court documents say Sanders, who is now 80 years old, has been charged with two counts of an Unclassified Felony for Statutory Sodomy in the First Degree- Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a Person Less Than 14 years old; four counts of a Class B Felony for Child Molestation in the First Degree; and four sex-related misdemeanors.
A pre-trial conference is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, and a three-day jury trial in the matter is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 7, at Lafayette County Circuit Court in Lexington.
