Due to the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday on Monday, January 15, many area city governments have postponed their regular meeting until Tuesday, January 16.
At the meeting of the Marshall City Council, the council is scheduled to hear the second readings regarding the city vacating and discontinuing a couple of public alleys.
The agenda says the council also is scheduled to discuss a resolution authorizing the purchase of a refuse truck for the Municipal Services Department and consider approval of recommended appointments to the Building Code Enforcement Committee and the Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works.
A closed, executive session also is on the agenda to discuss legal, real-estate and personnel matters.

A couple of bills are on the docket to be discussed during the meeting of the Higginsville Board of Aldermen.
The agenda says one bill is regarding an agreement with Choice Recovery, Inc., for ambulance collection. The other bill is involving a cooperative agreement for 9-1-1 central dispatch services with Lafayette County.
There also is a closed, executive session on the agenda to discuss legal, real-estate and personnel matters.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at city hall at 1922 Main Street.

The Carrollton Town Council is scheduled to hear a report from police chief Robert Turner about the drug task force and another update on liquor-license violations from a police detective during its meeting.
The Town Council also is scheduled to hear reports from several departments and consider the approval of an appointment as Ward 3 Councilperson and an appointment to the city works board.
There also is a closed, executive session on the agenda to discuss legal, real-estate, personnel and contract matters.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at city hall at 206 West Washington Avenue.

The Concordia Board of Aldermen is scheduled to discuss several bills about items which initially were talked about during the meeting on January 2.
Aldermen also are scheduled to discuss an ordinance about the fiscal-year 2017-18 budget.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in room 202 at the community building at 802 South Gordon Street.

Prior to its regular-session meeting at 7 p.m., the Sedalia City Council is scheduled to meet for a work session at 6:30 p.m.
During the regular-session meeting, the council is scheduled to consider authorization of an application for a recreational trails program grant, which, if approved, will allow for the completion of the Katy Trail Sedalia Connection Project.
There also is a closed, executive session on the agenda to discuss legal and real-estate matters.
The meeting will be held in the council chambers at the Municipal Building at 200 South Osage Avenue.

The Boonville City Council is scheduled to hold a budget work session at 6 p.m. and then meet in regular session at 7 p.m.
During the regular-session meeting, the council is scheduled to discuss a bill that was tabled at its last meeting regarding salaries of the mayor and the city council, as well as another portion of a bill that was tabled involving amending chapter 10 for licenses and taxation.
The council also is scheduled to continue discussion about a fire truck.
The meeting will be held at city hall at 525 East Spring Street.
