An area law-enforcement agency is still asking for the public’s help in a case, and reportedly has determined the weapon that allegedly was used in the death of a woman this past weekend.
According to a post on the Sedalia Police Department’s Facebook page, on Sunday, January 14, officers and ambulance personnel were dispatched to apartment D at 414 East 7th Street in reference to an assault.
Upon arrival, medical aid reportedly was rendered to 33-year-old Heather M. McClellan, of Sedalia. McClellan was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center where she later died from her injuries. McClellan was pronounced deceased by Pettis County Coroner Robert “Skip” Smith.
In an updated post on Tuesday, January 16, authorities say the initial investigation has revealed McCellan died of apparent stab wounds but, an autopsy as to the actual cause of death is pending.
