A traffic stop at the 68.6 mile marker on I-70 on December 2, 2017, led to the arrest and drug-related charges being filed against a couple of Callaway County residents in Saline County.
According to a probable-cause statement, one person allegedly had on his person a glass container containing marijuana, a clear plastic baggie containing methamphetamine, another baggie containing what appeared to be heroin. During the search of the vehicle, law enforcement also allegedly found a roll of money– $13,200– wrapped in rubber bands , and other drug-related items.
Online court documents say Fulton residents, 44-year-old Shannon Davon Bowen has been charged with two counts and 54-year-old Charley Keith Cornish one count of a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana. Bowen also has been charged with two drug-related misdemeanors and Cornish one. Bond for Cornish has been set at $15,000 and Bowen at $10,00 cash or surety.
An initial hearing for each of the accused is pending at Saline County Circuit Court in Marshall.
