During the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, January 18, commissioners approved the ballot language for a one-half-cent sales tax measure during the upcoming election.
Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr. read the specific language.

Southern District Commissioner Monte Fenner also read the language of an issue that will be on the ballot for voters in the common road district.

Voters will go to the polls to cast their ballots on the issue during the Municipal Election on Tuesday, April 3.
In other news, the commissioners announced the budget has been finalized. It has been placed in Clerk Debbie Russell’s office for anybody to peruse for the next 10 calendar days. Commissioners will approve the budget during open session at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30.
The commissioners also pointed out they approved the reappointment of Mike Malter to the common road district board for another three-year term through April 1, 2021; and the reappointments of Jeannie Parkhurst, Connie Hayes and Carol Byrd to the county board of services for the developmentally disabled during their meeting on Tuesday, January 16.
