A Sedalia man who allegedly had marijuana, illegal controlled substances and a weapon in a vehicle after a traffic stop on Tuesday, January 16, has been charged with a couple of felonies in Pettis County.
According to a probable-cause statement, during a probable-cause search of the vehicle, authorities allegedly found some finely-ground marijuana in a wooden dug-out box; drug-related paraphernalia; a Ziplock baggie with 20 Hydrocodone pills; and a .40-caliber handgun.
According to online court documents, a warrant has been issued, and 29-year-old Zachary E. Smasal has been charged with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Except 235 Grams or Less of Marijuana; a Class E Felony for Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and two drug-related misdemeanors. Bond has been set at $25,000 cash or surety.
Smasal’s initial hearing at Pettis County Circuit Court in Sedalia is pending.
