The Sweet Springs R-7 School Board talked about the upcoming election of board members, as well as set the dates for candidate interviews for the district’s superintendent position during its meeting on Thursday, January 18.
According to the minutes of the meeting, Superintendent Donna Wright stated during her report that the district will not have an election of school board members due to the number of candidates who filed being equal to the number of seats up for election. Wright added the only filings received were from incumbents Darla Reid and Cindi Sims. Also during her report, Wright said school will be in session for two make-up days scheduled on Monday, February 19, and Monday, May 21.
In other business from the meeting, the board approved the interview dates for the district’s superintendent position. The board is scheduled to go into a closed session each night for applicant interviews at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, January 22, though Thursday, January 25.
