Two Sedalia residents who reportedly were given permission to drive another person’s vehicle for certain trips, did not return the person’s vehicle when asked, and each has been charged with a felony in Pettis County.
According to a probable-cause statement, the owner of the vehicle reportedly allowed Johnathon Woodall and Stacey Belcher to use her vehicle. But when the woman wanted the vehicle returned and tried to get it, the Woodall and Belcher reportedly texted her that the vehicle was in Versailles and they didn’t know how it got there.
The investigation led to Woodall and Belcher each being charged with a Class D Felony for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree. Bond has not been set for either subject.
An initial hearing for each of the accused at Pettis County Circuit Court in Sedalia is pending.
