An Aurora, Colorado, resident has been charged with a couple of felonies after a traffic stop was made in Lafayette County on Wednesday, January 24, 2018.
A probable-cause statement says during a probable-cause search of the vehicle, a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper allegedly found a small amount of marijuana, seven grams of suspected cocaine, three amphetamine salts capsules, two grams of hashish, 3.5 grams of tetrahydrocannabinol concentrate, digital scales and U.S. currency totaling nearly $4,900 (mostly in $20 bills). When the trooper attempted to place the driver in custody, the man allegedly fled on foot across I-70, reportedly causing several vehicles to stop on the eastbound and westbound lanes- creating a substantial risk to himself and others. The suspect allegedly ran back across the interstate at another location before being apprehended and placed into custody.
Online court documents say 45-year-old Raymond Lamar Fletcher has been charged with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Except for 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoid; a Class E Felony for Resisting Arrest, Detention or Stop by Fleeing- Creating a Substantial Risk of Serious Injury or Death to Any Person; and two drug-related misdemeanors. Bond has been set at $15,000 cash or surety, with one of the conditions being he is to wear a drug patch upon release, with proof to the court.
An initial hearing for Fletcher at Lafayette County Circuit Court in Lexington is pending.
