In a little more than a month, an area campground is scheduled to be closed permanently.
According to a news release, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Harry S. Truman Lake has announced the permanent closure of the Windsor Crossing Campground at Warsaw, effective March 1, 2018.
Due to under-utilization and projected budget restrictions, the camping and beach area reportedly will be closed in an effort to improve other park operating efficiencies and provide quality recreation opportunities for the public.
On a positive note, the day-use boat ramp facility at Windsor Crossing reportedly will remain open with no operational changes.
Reservations reportedly already have been closed by the Corps, as this campground is not currently in season.
