During the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Tuesday, January 30, Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr. asked the commissioners to approve the county’s budget.

Commissioners also opened several bids from area vendors for various goods and services– such as gas and oil, rock, culvert pipe, etc.– needed throughout the year by the county. The commissioners took the bids under advisement and will make the decisions at a future meeting after they are looked over by Road and Bridge Crew Supervisor Justin Cowart.
Southern District Commissioner Monte Fenner said the bid opening for the health-insurance coverage for the county’s employees will be held during session on Tuesday, February 6.
In other news, Northern District Commissioner Richard Clemens announced that County Government Day will be held on Friday, March 2, at the Saline County Courthouse in Marshall.
