The MMU Board of Public Works accepted a soil-testing bid for the 161kV Emergency Tie Project, as well as recognized a former board member for over two decades of service during a meeting on Thursday, February 1.
Electric Distribution Director Jeff Bergstrom presented the board with two bids he received for soil-testing to be conducted for the 161kV Emergency Tie Project. Bergstrom recommended the high bid from Terracon, of Lenexa, KS, for $12,900. Bergstrom added the low bid received was for $7,500 from Crockett Engineering, of Columbia.
Bergstrom said the bid from Terracon includes other services besides soil testing.

The board approved Berstrom’s recommended bid from Terracon.
In other business, Mayor Mark Gooden was at the meeting to present former board member Chuck Hird with a plaque acknowledging his 23 years of service on the MMU Board of Public Works.
Hird gave thanks to those he has worked with over the years.

The next MMU Board of Public Works meeting is scheduled on Thursday, February 15.
