A woman wanted in connection with a homicide in another state was taken into custody in Marshall over this past weekend.
According to a release from the Marshall Police Department, on Saturday, February 3, officers received information in regards to a person-of-interest in a homicide in Kansas City, Kansas, was staying in a room at the Marshall Lodge. Officers remained on surveillance of the motel and arrested 28-year-old Tara Alise Treece, of Kansas City, Kansas, after she was reported as being violent and throwing things against the wall in her room, causing a disturbance on Sunday, February 4.
On Monday, February 5, Wyandotte County, Kansas, authorities issued a warrant for Treece for felonies for Murder in the Second Degree- Severity Level 1 and Criminal Use of a Weapon, as well as a misdemeanor. Bond has been set at $200,000 cash only.
Treece also has been charged with a misdemeanor for peace disturbance in Saline County, with bond set at $2,500.
