A Sedalia man has been charged with a felony for allegedly assaulting a victim who was asleep earlier this week in Pettis County.
According to a probable-cause statement, on February 5, 41-year-old Dillon Davis allegedly entered the victim’s bedroom and began to “slap” the victim in the chest. The victim said he did not want to fight and began to leave the bedroom when Davis reportedly struck the victim in the head and back areas multiple times with a wooden bedpost. Davis reportedly appeared to be intoxicated during the incident.
Online court documents say Davis has been charged with a Class D Felony for Second-Degree Domestic Assault. Bond was set at $7,500 cash or surety.
Davis’ initial hearing at Pettis County Circuit Court in Sedalia is pending.
