The Slater City Council accepted a bid for the painting of a water tower during its regular-session meeting on Tuesday, February 6.
City Administrator Gene Griffith detailed the painting bids received and further explains the low bid.

The board accepted the bid from Hogan Painting for $135,296.
In other business, Mayor Dr. Steven Allegri said some residents have been complaining recently of high utility bills. Dr. Allegri suggested that residents be mindful of weather conditions as it can affect the cost of their utility bills.
Griffith said there are several ways to get help paying certain utilities.

Dr. Allegri said not many cities offer its residents an agreement to help with utility payments, and stated the city willing to help any resident who is in need.
