A Prairie Home woman has been charged with multiple felonies after a traffic stop in Howard County on Tuesday, February 13.
According to a probable-cause statement, during a consented search of her vehicle and the woman’s purse, authorities found an unloaded rifle, two syringes– one containing a residue that tested positive to be ecstasy. The woman also was in possession of a controlled substance in the form of a pill when her purse was searched again at the Howard County Jail.
According to online court documents, 63-year-old Katherine Simpson, has been charged with two counts of a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana and Class E Felonies for Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Possession of a Weapon and a Felony Controlled Substance- and Driving While Revoked or Suspended. Bond has been set at $25,000 cash only.
Simpson’s arraignment hearing is scheduled to be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27, at Howard County Circuit Court in Fayette.
