An area law-enforcement agency is investigating a case of counterfeit bills being used to purchase items recently at Walmart in Marshall.
A report from the Marshall Police Department says on February 16, officers were contacted by an asset protection associate from Walmart about receiving over $600 in counterfeit bills.
Upon arriving, officers spoke with the reporting associate, who stated a manager was loading cash tills into one of the registers and notice $20 and $10 counterfeit bills during overnight hours on February 15. Video surveillance of the incident reportedly identifies both a male and female suspect, who allegedly were driving a red-in-color hybrid vehicle.
The investigation continues.
