A Bates City man charged with multiple felonies for allegedly stabbing a man last year in Lafayette County is due in court this week.
Online court documents say 44-year-old Michael Alexander is charged with a Class A Felony for Assault in the First Degree, Causing Serious Physical Injury; a Class E Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon; and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action. Alexander reportedly entered a plea of not guilty during his arraignment hearing on August 10, 2017.
Online court documents also say Alexander appeared in custody for a plea/trial-setting hearing on February 5, 2018, and his cause was continued for another plea/trial-setting hearing at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, at Lafayette County Circuit Court in Lexington.
