A Hale resident who was supposed to be house-sitting for three persons allegedly stole a gun and other items that belonged to the house’s occupants in May 2017 and has been charged with multiple felonies in Carroll County.
A probable-cause statement says the residents reported a handgun was missing, along with a necklace, a promise ring, a jug full of change and their checkbooks. Thomas Gamble III is alleged to have stolen the items and written and cashed checks on each person’s account.
According to online court documents, 29-year-old Gamble has been charged with three counts of a Class D Felony for Forgery and a Class D Felony for Stealing a Firearm, as well as a misdemeanor for stealing.
Gamble’s initial hearing is scheduled to be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, at Carroll County Circuit Court in Carrollton.
