Several people were injured in a head-on traffic crash in Johnson County on Monday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as an eastbound vehicle, driven by 52-year-old Kathryn Mitchell, of Knob Noster, reportedly crossed the center of the roadway and struck a westbound vehicle head-on, driven by 31-year-old Amanda Knifong, of Marshfield. Knifong’s vehicle overturned off the right side of the roadway and Mitchell’s vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway.
Knifong and occupant, 50-year-old David Hays, of Calhoun, reportedly were transported by Johnson County ambulance to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg for treatment of moderate injuries, where Mitchell reportedly was transported by private vehicle for treatment of minor injuries.
The crash happened just after 5:30 p.m. on Northeast 200 Road, about one-half mile west of Northeast 521 Road.
