A Sedalia man is formally charged with multiple counts of felonies for forgery and burglary after allegedly stealing from a business several times last year in Pettis County.
A probable-cause statement says on six different occasions from September 11, through December 8, 2017, 34-year-old Eric Wells reportedly was seen on video surveillance at Walmart in Sedalia stealing various items with an estimated total just over $400. Wells reportedly was seen switching bar codes on higher prices items and paid a significantly lower price for the items. Also, he reportedly was seen carrying items out of the store without paying.
Online court documents say Wells has been charged with four counts each of a Class B Felony for First-Degree Burglary and a Class D Felony for Forgery. Bond has not yet been set.
Wells’ initial hearing at Pettis County Circuit Court in Sedalia is pending.
