Area authorities have received recent reports of a phone scam in which the callers pose as representatives of KCP&L and demand payment for past due bills.
Glasgow Police Chief Charlie Polson said several businesses have been called by the phone scammers.

Polson added more details about the scam and wants the public to be aware of the situation.

Anyone receiving a call like this is urged to contact your local authorities or if your a KCP&L customer and have concerns about your bill, the customer service number is 1-(888)-471-5275.
