The Missouri Department of Transportation wants area motorists to be apart of its “Pothole Patrol” during the month of March this year.
According to a news release, MoDOT crews will be repairing potholes throughout the month to keep roads as safe and smooth as possible. Missouri motorists are asked to report potholes on their area highways so crews can assess the damage and complete the repairs. MoDOT spends approximately $15 million a year on pothole patching with the majority of the work occurring in March.
MoDOT State Maintenance Engineer Becky Allmeroth also asks motorists to watch out for crews making the repairs, slow down and move over a lane to give them room to work. An estimated 300 pothole-patching crews may be working to make state roadways safer this March.
Motorists are urged to report potholes on their area highways by calling MoDOT at (888) 275-6636 or by visiting www.modot.org/central and clicking on “Report a Road Concern.”
