A Sedalia man has been charged with several felonies relating to an incident of domestic assault recently in Pettis County.
A probable-cause statement says on March 2, 37-year-old Justin Lange reportedly assaulted a female victim by slapping her in the face which caused her lip to bleed. Lange also allegedly hit the victim on top of her head with the butt of his knife and threaten to cut off the victim’s fingers and tongue.
During an investigation, authorities reportedly noticed the victim had bruising on the face, her upper lip was swollen and fresh blood on top of her head.
Online court documents say Lange has been charged with a Class B Felony of First-Degree Kidnapping-Inflicting Injury and Terrorizing, an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action and a Class D Felony For Second-Degree Domestic Assault. Bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety.
Lange’s initial hearing is pending at the Pettis County Circuit Court.
