A Sedalia woman who allegedly altered her license plate and had a marijuana blunt and a weapon in the vehicle after a traffic stop on March 1 has been charged with a pair of felonies.
According to a probable-cause statement, the front plate on the car showed 2019, however, the officer says “it (19) was very clearly written in what appears to be ink.” The driver reportedly could not produce a registration for 2019.
Also, the officer detected the odor of marijuana and conducted a vehicle search that allegedly yielded a smoked marijuana blunt and a 9mm handgun that had been defaced.
Online court documents say a warrant has been issued, and 33-year-old Jesses Kenned has been charged with Class D Felonies for Forgery and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and two misdemeanors. Bond has been set at $9,300 cash or surety.
Kenned’s arraignment hearing was scheduled to be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 5, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
