The Marshall Philharmonic Orchestra has a special event in store this weekend.
According to a news release, in place of the annual chamber concert featuring members of the philharmonic, this year, organizers have scheduled a full recital with the Harmonium Brass Quintet on Saturday, March 10.
Harmonium Brass, formed in 2009, reportedly is comfortable playing anything from early Renaissance music to contemporary compositions and everything in between, including big band, patriotic marches and show tunes.
The free concert is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary of Covenant Presbyterian Church at 710 East Yerby Street. A meet-and-greet reception is scheduled to be held immediately following the program.
