Two area residents were killed in a head-on traffic crash in Carroll County on Thursday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a southbound vehicle, driven by 51-year-old Monty Isaacs, of Bogard, reportedly crossed the center line of the roadway and struck a northbound vehicle, driven by 62-year-old Esther Gregg, of Carrollton, head-on. Isaacs’ vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck two mailboxes before coming to a rest, where Gregg’s vehicle came to a rest on the roadway.
Gregg and a passenger in the vehicle, 45-year-old Spencer Alexander, of Norborne, reportedly were pronounced deceased. Isaacs reportedly was transported by private vehicle to Carroll County Memorial Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
The crash happened just after 6 a.m. on U.S. Highway 65, just north of Municipal Drive.
