Two Higginsville residents are facing felony charges after an alleged burglary incident earlier this week in Lafayette County.
A probable-cause statement says on March 6, Lafayette County deputies responded to a report of an alleged burglary in progress at a residence in the 3900 block of Route Z in Bates City. The deputies stopped the a vehicle on the driveway to the residence and spoke with the occupants, 20-year-old Hunter Vorwark and 17-year-old Hunter Campbell. Deputies reportedly found several items in the suspects’ vehicle with a total estimated value of $1,500.
Deputies reportedly spoke with a resident of the home who stated no one had permission to take anything from the property.
Online court documents say each suspect is charged with Class D Felonies for Second-Degree Burglary and Stealing of $750 or More. Bond for each was set at $10,000 cash or surety.
Online court documents also say Vorwark and Campbell both appeared for arraignment hearings and entered pleas of not guilty on Wednesday, March 7, and each suspect’s cause is continued for case-hearings at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14, at the Lafayette County Circuit Court.
