A Lincoln man accused of murder reportedly entered a plea of not guilty during his arraignment on Wednesday, March 7.
According to online court documents, 21-year-old William Heffernan has been charged with a Class A Felony for Murder in the Second Degree; a Class E Felony for Tampering with Physical Evidence in a Felony Prosecution; and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action for allegedly shooting to death 27-year-old Caleb Shephard at a mobile home park just outside the city limits of Lincoln on January 12.
Heffernan’s bond reportedly was reduced from $100,000 to $50,000 cash or surety by the court on February 6.
Heffernan’s next hearing is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, at Benton County Circuit Court.
