Two Kansas residents suffered injuries in a traffic crash in Lafayette County on Sunday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a westbound vehicle, driven by 19-year-old Kosta Buterakos, of Burlingame, reportedly traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck the cable barrier, returned to the roadway, traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment and went airborne.
The driver, who reportedly was not wearing a seat belt, and 16-year-old passenger, Aaron Buterakos, of Carbondale, reportedly were transported by Higginsville E.M.S. to I-70 Community Hospital in Sweet Springs for treatment of minor injuries.
The crash happened at about 8:40 a.m. at the 52.6 mile marker on I-70.
