In a little more than two weeks, an area library director will be retiring.
At the meeting of the Marshall Public Library Board of Trustees on Tuesday, March 13, President Marsha Williams (left) recognized director Wicky Sleight for her many years of service by presenting her with a plaque.

Sleight has served as director during two different stints. She started the library when it opened in 1990 and worked there through 1994. She came back to the library and was interim director on September 1, 2012, after Amy Crump resigned and moved to another city. Sleight eventually was appointed permanent director.
Sleight’s last day on the job is Saturday, March 31.
